Pastor Tom McConkey was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  He was raised in a godly Christian home and has attended an Independent, Fundamental Baptist church his whole life.  As a teenager, he started a bus route to bring families to church and was involved in many other ministries.  In the fall of 1998, Pastor McConkey was led to attend Hyles-Anderson College, under the leadership of Dr. Jack Hyles.  It was there that Pastor met and married his wife, Lara (Lamb).  Pastor McConkey, upon graduation, accepted a position as an assistant pastor in Apache Junction, Arizona.              

It was in Arizona, that God got a hold of Pastor McConkey’s heart and called him to be a pastor.  After Pastor wrestled with the call, he accepted God’s Will for his life.  Immediately the opportunity came to pastor a Baptist church in Joppa, Maryland.  Pastor McConkey took the position as Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in September of 2007.

Pastor McConkey and his wife have three children, TJ(6),  Harmony Grace (2), and Justus Mitchell (6 months).
